Dr. Gerald Marti, MD, PhD

Gerald Marti, MD, PhD is a physician scientist who spent the last 30+ years in the US Public Health Service at the NIH and FDA studying hematological malignancy. He received his MD and PhD from Northwestern University Medical and Graduate School in 1977 followed by an internship and residency in Medicine at Northwestern University completed in 1980. He retired from the Public Health Service in July 2010 and in Jan 2011 began workiing part-time as a Medical Officer for the Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health (OIR), CDRH, FDA. In 2012, Dr Marti was recipient of the ICCS Wallace H. Coulter Award in recognition of his many contributions to the field of clinical flow cytometry.

Dr. Raavi Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta is an Academic Pathologist at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. She completed her Pathology Residency at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA and fellowships in hematopathology and surgical pathology from Columbia University Medical Center and New York University Langone Medical Center in New York, NY respectively. She serves as a Director of Clinical Laboratories at Downstate at BayRidge, participates in undergraduate and graduate medical education, performs clinical and basic science research and is a Member of multiple institutional committees. She is an active member of many national organizations and currently serves as a Secretary of New York Pathological Society.

 

Dr. Cezmi Akdis, MD

Cezmi Akdis has been Director of the Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) since 2006, and CK CARE AG since 2009, both in Davos. After medical studies at the University of Bursa, Turkey, he specialized in the field of infectious diseases in 1991, and also in immunology in 1994. With his scholarships in Basel (1993 Ciba Geigy, Basel) and Davos (1994 SIAF), his professional career led him into research. In 2002, he received the Venia Legendi from the University of Zurich, where he became a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in 2006. Professor Akdis is the author of numerous publications. He is a co-editor of the “Journal of Allergy Clinical Immunology” and a member of the editorial board of other international specialist journals. Cezmi Akdis is the founder and organizer of several international congresses, including the “World Immune Regulation Meeting” and the “EAACI-Davos meeting”, both in Davos. He is also active as a scientific expert for many journals and foundations and is a member of several specialist committees. Professor Akdis has been awarded numerous international prizes for his work.
